On 16 May 2007, under the auspices of the Georgian Season and supported by the “Iavnana” Foundation and the Georgian Embassy in Spain a grandiose charity Gala was held at TEATRO ALBENIZ in Madrid. The Gala featured the renowned Georgian performers Paata Burchuladze, bass, the founder of the “Iavnana” Foundation, Tamar Iveri, soprano, Badri Maisuradze, the Bolshoy soloist, Tea Demurishvili, mezzo-soprano, Lekso Toradze, pianist, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra of Ingostadt (Germany), the Sukhishvilis Georgian National Ballet, the Roots ensemble, Gici Chichinadze, Tamriko Chokhonelidze, Nato Metonidze and Mariam Roinishvili, solo singers, Nika Memanishvili – artistic Director of the Georgian National Musical Center. Conductor – Ariel Zuckerman. The concert at TEATRO ALBENIZ was covered live by the Public Broadcaster. Mr. Manuel Foundez- Barada, an ethnic Spaniard was the conferancier. By the revenue of the concert, The “Iavnana” foundation purchased an apartment for Kistauri family. The project was supported by the Georgian Ministry of Culture, Monument Preservation and Sports, Madrid Municipality, the Georgian embassy in Spain, the “Elite-Electronics”, “Wissol” and “Badagoni” companies and, also, Badri Kakabadze and Dimitry Mchedlidze, the Georgian businessmen.
