On 3 March 2009, The Paata Burchuladze “Iavnana” International Charity Foundation celebrated its 5 anniversary by a Gala and a grandiose TV marathon covered live by “Rustavi-2” TV channel.

For three hours the Georgian viewers watched the best renditions from the “Iavnana”concerts featuring some of the renowned actors and singers, such as Medea Chakhava, Nani Bregvadze, Buba Kikabidze, Kakhi Kavsadze, Guram Sagaradze, Givi Berikashvili, Zina Kverenchkhiladze, Nato Metonidze, “The Georgian Voices” ensemble etc. Michele Crider, the world-renowned Soprano arrived on a day’s visit in Tbilisi for the involvement in the concert.

The concert consummated with the hand-over of the apartment keys to the Tsitaishvili, Kvaratskhelia and Siprashvili vulnerable families awaiting for the outcome of the event in Tbilisi. The viewers of the live coverage by “Rustavi-2” witnessed the home return of 16 children who until 3 March had been the inmates of the children’s homes.

Also from 3 March, the Internet users world-wide have been able to log in to the “Iavnana” Foundation web-site and make at least a $1 contribution on-line for the children deprived of parental care.

During the concert, the Geocell, Magti and Beeline subscribers could get involved in the charity event by dialing 30-30.

The revenue of the TV marathon dedicated to the 5-the anniversary of the “Iavnana” Foundation amounted to 162841 GEL, which along with the contribution made by the businesses will go into the purchase of 4 more apartments for the vulnerable families. Also, all the children orphaned as a result of last August’s Georgian-Russian conflict will be eligible for a monthly allowance for the next 12 months.

So, owing to the viewers’ unprecedented support, not only do 7 families have the apartments of their own but have celebrated the reunification with their 41 children.
